Anya is starting to speak! Not much, but a little bit is a big thing when you're 18 months and saying basically nothing yet. She said dih-uh (sticker) quite a few times the other day for me. She said bubbles when we read a book about Elmo blowing bubbles, and I think the other day she said baby. She has said mahhh!!! (mine) (and yes the exclamation points are part of the word. always.) (funny story. the other day she was alseep in her crib. I always check to see if she's covered before I go to bed, and I pulled her blanket a little to recover her. In her sleep, she grabbed and whispered mahhh! She's a posessive little monkey)(could I have more parentheses?), oh about 5 trigillion times, but lately, it's more like mahhh!!! din (drink) or mahhh!!! dih-in (chicken) And often, the mahhh!! is just shorthand for "Mom, look at this thing that I have that is mine! and I want you to open it for me so I can eat it". It's kind of a hybrid between mom, mine and more all at the same time. This latest development came about after getting a treat bag from Abraham lincoln the other day. Just filled with goodies, and she just wouldn't understand why I wouldn't let her eat all 5 pounds of them.
It won't be long before we can start telling her to shut up ;)
