Mom picked the kids up after day care on Monday. She brought them back to me last night at bedtime.
For those of you who are a little slow, that means Rob and I had almost 2 entire evenings to ourselves!!!
TMI here: Unfortunately, it's that time of the month, so we had to find something else to do. So we went shopping. I'm desperate for a pair of jeans, and after the case of the missing mp3 Player. Rob decided I should have one of my own. Yippee. And we've been wanting to watch Fight Club again, so we headed out to Best Buy. I got a MP3 player and a couple disks and Rob managed to find an entire section of movies on war. (Yippee - only with lots of sarcasm this time). And Fight Club (Have you ever seen this? It's the only movie ever that I have found Brad Pitt even remotely attractive. But in this movie? drool... You know, when he's not bleeding and stuff. And just for the record, the first time I watched Fight Club, it was just released (on VHS?) and I saw the hidden scenes. You know what I'm talking about, right? But I didn't think too much about them. Then just before the credits, Bam, PENIS. I was watching it with Rob and another guy and neither one of them saw it. I said hey, there was a penis. And they're all "What are you talking about?" We rewound and slow-motioned and I was vindicated.), of course.
Back to the shopping. Remember, we were talking about shopping?
Then I went on a hunt for jeans. The problem is I'm short. I've complained about it before. I can't find jeans that fit. So we went everywhere, and I was thrilled when I walked into Vanity and saw they actually had 28" inseams. !!!! But the jeans were all pre-chewed and uh, "trendy" or something. I'd rather get my jeans without holes in them. so sad. hmmm... I wonder if they have any on a website without holes... BRB. They've all got holes in them ARG. So I spent a good-awful amount on a pair that fit me in the thighs/butt at another store and they came with a free alteration, so they will NOT be too long. And I can pick them up tonight. But while there, Rob found me a itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny-yellow-polka dot-stripey-bikini. I will not be posting pictures.
And then I got some of the aforementioned dresses that I have to pick from. I love shopping with Rob. He helps me find things that look good on me, and we all know how much fun looking good is. Then we went home and watched our movie (not the war ones).
Tuesday, we had all kinds of time too, so I tried to use it being productive. I pulled a bunch of things out of the kids closets to make room for the short sleeves that I hope will soon be needed (Please let winter end soon). This was prompted by the following conversation:
Me: Get something warm, it's going to be cold today
Ally: This (Red fleece outfit with the words "I Love Santa" on the shirt) will be warm!
Me: Yep. It will (In accordance with my It's-not-important-what-they're-wearing-as-long-as-it's-weather-appropriate philosophy)
I'm all about letting them look like fools, but if the santa clothes aren't in the closet anymore, they can't pick them out, right?
And then Rob decided to lose his freaking mind and suggest we try out our new bike rack and take a bike ride down the trail. And we all know that I'm insane, (evidence: I married him) so we went on a 45 minute bike ride in the 37 degree weather. We forgot gloves. But (further proof of insanity) it was kinda nice too. But it's his fault the laundry isn't put away. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
But I missed half of American Idol and had to google it today. And then the kids got home and we couddled and it's back to normal today. Oh well, normal is good too.
