Ally got The WIzard of Oz for her birthday. We watched it earlier this week. Ally watched with a blanket at the ready to throw over her head in case there were any scary parts. It was used once or twice. Anya started crying soundlessly when the witch told the monkey to throw Toto into a lake and drown him. Her face just crumpled. Bravely, they watched til the end. And then they told us how mean that witch was. Last night, for the first time (they wouldn't have understood the reference before) I grabbed their hands on the way into a restaurant and started singing "We're off to see the wizard..." They loved it and haven't started talking about the movie since. Anya's favorite parts are when the witches got killed. Ally's favorite was when the friends stole the guards clothes to trick them and sneak into the castle. And so on and so forth.
About an hour ago, they came to me together and asked to watch it again. Of course I said yes. Excited, they ran to the living room and waited for it to start. But they sat together. With a blanket. Just in case...
P.S. I think I'm back
